About Me

I’m a stage combat enthusiast and I love the internet. ::poof!:: A blog was born.

As for me, my name is Megan. I’ve choreographed and co-choreographed about a dozen shows, most of them Shakespeare,  including fights with broadswords, foils, fists, knives, spears, and that one with copper pipes and a 15-foot chain. The Society of American Fight Directors considers me qualified not to kill people with my bare hands, singlesword, quarterstaff, sword and shield, smallsword, and knife, and I’ve assistant-taught several Dueling Arts International classes at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and St. Mary’s College. After a few years in New York City and stints in southwest Ireland and the San Francisco Bay Area, I now live near L.A.

Forgive periods of silence! I try to post once a month, but I’m in medical school these days and it’s a bit of a blog-killer.

Really awesome page, Megan. I laughed a lot on your “Seven Ways Stage Combat Prepared Me for Parenthood” page.
